Walter Goral’s autobiography
fills in some missing pieces in
the history of the world.

Captured, imprisoned and tortured,
Walter Goral
vividly tells of how
he bravely fought the
allied forces
and participated in the
perilous
North African campaign
and the
invasion of France.
For
history buffs, this exciting slice
of life story of Walter Goral is one of
courage, survival and escape from
the communist regime In this book
by a self-publishing author.

The book runs 128 pages, 16 of which
are pages are composites of B&W snapshot
photos.

When Hitler came into power, Slovakia
became an independent state allied to
Nazi Germany. And typical of wartime
stories, there is an underlying beautiful
love story of how Walter met and
ultimately married Nancy Hirshorn.
Her Jewish family hoped to leave Slovakia.
Nancy secured a permit, forced to
travel alone, to her uncle in England
to do domestic work.

Not knowing another language, she
wore a tag around her neck with her
destination. Not long after living with
her uncle in London, Nancy received
word from a friend about what was
happening to the family she left behind.

REVIEWS

Esther Hadida – 2017

Despite all the tests, trails hard work and
diseases which we went through during
his childhood, and his young adult life,
Walter Goral keeps going strong, and
has faith & hope. His dreams of immigrating
to Israel with his family finally becomes a
reality and adds freedom to the rest of his life.

A MAN OF STRONG WILL, A MEANINGFUL LIFE

Goldie Naiditch – 2017

One man’s life reflects the lives of
millions from World War 1 and
World War 2, a true story of survival.
His name became Goral which
means (Destiny) and he survived,
anti-semitism, loss of his family,
birthplace, and is forced into a life of
chaos through armies and prisons. Yet,
he survives and (spoiler alert) gets to the
Promised Land. Inspiring work of taking
what life hands you and truly making
the most of it. Definitely a good read.

Abraham Brand – 2017

“My Life” by Walter Goral is an inspirational
autobiography about a Jewish man and his
family Czechoslovakia during World War 11.
The book chronicles his life during those
tumultuous times and his subsequent
emigration to Israel after the war.

The description of Goral’s life was
so detailed and full of emotion that
often times the reader must remind
himself that this is a true story and not a
fictional work. It is totally fascinating to
read about the events that took place
in his life and the different people he
encountered along the way.

Goral’s strength of character and bravery
clearly comes across in each chapter of
the book.

I highly recommend this literary work
to anyone interested in the early
history of modern day Israel and the
Jewish experience during World War II.
